Commonly Asked Questions:

Q. How is Transformation Meditation different from other meditation techniques?

A. Transformation Meditation has its roots in the philosophy of yoga.  Similar to other techniques, such as Transcendental Meditation, it utilizes mantra meditation techniques.  Similar to Mindfulness Meditation, it also includes the ability to become the observer of your mind and actions.  With the combination of these techniques, one gains the ability to understand and experience the state of meditation directly.  This enhances ones’ ability to practice, accelerating the meditative experience.

Q. I have a difficult time concentrating, have too many thoughts in my head and find it hard to sit still.  Can I learn to meditate?  How long do I have to practice?

A. Most people have very active minds.  The purpose of the mind is to think.  How many thoughts you have in your mind is never a hindrance while practicing meditation.  These techniques are designed to help improve your concentration and ability to relax.  You will only practice for a few minutes at the beginning and develop your ability for longer sessions.

Q. How can meditation improve my health, lower blood pressure, and reduce chronic pain?

A. Meditation can improve your health by helping to strengthen your immune system.  Your blood pressure can be lowered through the practice of meditation as your body’s need for oxygen is reduced.  Your heart doesn’t have to work as hard and this can help normalize your blood pressure.  Chronic Pain can be reduced through increasing the body’s natural pain-control chemicals such as seratonin and endorphins.  It also allows you to transcend your body awareness as you do in deep sleep.

Q. Will Transformation Meditation conflict with my religious beliefs?

A. Transformation Meditation is a very scientific technique that creates a relaxation response.  Many people find the practice and philosophy of meditation enhances their spirituality.  People of all religious backgrounds are welcome and none of the techniques will interfere in any way with your religious beliefs or practices, but only enhance them.
