Where it all Began
It all began with my first job as a dishwasher working in my parents restaurant for the first 12 years of my life, The Pied Piper Pancake House. I learned what hard work was. I watched and helped my parents grow a successful business.
After college, I spent the next 10 years as a teacher mostly working with sixth grade. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from UWEC and a Masters Degree in Education from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI.
Started out as a Teacher
Teaching as it turns out is an INCREDIBLY demanding profession. My unconditional love for children and learning made me a perfect candidate for teacher burn-out, wanting to save every last one was on the top of my list. I was warned early in my career to be careful. Teachers with such passion and dedication burn out fast – was what I was told. And they were right. Balance was not a word in my vocabulary.
After my first 3 years of incredibly stressful teaching awakening to the wonders of the educational system, I discovered meditation which turned out to be my saving grace. It was in those moments of stillness when I began to tap into my inner voice and higher power, God. It was in those still moments when I begin to question. Is this what I am meant to do, to be, to have?
After several more years the answer came…NO. Then a new question, if not this, being a school teacher, something I had dreamed of since the second grade and schooled 7 long, hard years for (2 completing my masters degree), being the first to graduate from college in my family, if not this, then WHAT?!?
Stumbled upon Hypnotherapy
Several more years went by when I stumbled upon hypnotherapy while researching for my master’s degree and a voice said, “this is it.” So in May of 2005 I got certified as a Hypnotherapist from the Hypnosis & Wellness Training Center in Janesville, WI. This center is approved by the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board and the National Guild of Hypnotists.
Then I asked the next question, “Now what?” I was all set to leave teaching and leap into my new career but the voice said…”not yet.” And I replied impatiently with,”If not yet, then when?!?” The reply…“the time will be as right as the answer.”
It’s Time
One morning when I was meditating as clear as day I heard 2 words – “IT’S TIME.” And I thought, Huh? Time for what? And like a flash of lightening I bolted out of the chair and let out a cry of joy as I realized it was time.
I resigned a few days later and have never looked back! Today I am my own boss, I set my own hours, I attend all of my childrens’ events, I work with people I love and passionately help others heal and transform their own life. I live in the moment releasing stress and fears, embracing change and stepping into my own Divine Greatness where ANYTHING is possible!
