Cesta – Electrical Stimulation

This little “miracle” machine has been a real life saver for my whole family.

My husband initially hooked us up. After he broke his neck in 2007, he came upon this machine and has used it for pain as well as depression and relaxation.

I love it for mental clarity and anxiety. As a solopreneur it’s hard not to get into overwhelm with so much to do running a business and managing a family.

Finally our teenage daughter uses it on occasion for improved learning and sound sleep.

I HIGHLY recommend it. It runs about $400 but worth every cent!!

The CESta is a powerful and versatile CES (Cranial ElectroStim) device with 18 preset sessions* and space for you to create and store your specialized sessions. It delivers gentle microcurrent stimulation via small earclips to optimize brain wave activity and balance neurotransmitters that affect mood, alertness, focus, and behavior. The CESta also functions as a pain reliever for sore muscles and joints with the optional adhesive electrode pads, speeds healing, zaps parasites, and makes colloidal silver, a natural antibiotic used safely for hundreds of years.CESta can synchronize with any of the PAL Light/Sound brain wave synchronizers.

Expected Results with CES: Although individual levels of improvement may vary, medical research reveals dramatic improvements in mental functioning including:
Deep Relaxation, Improved Memory, Mental Clarity, Mood Elevation, Improved Learning, Sound Sleep, Increased Concentration, Increased Vitality, Reduction of Psychosomatic Conditions, Assisting Substance Abuse Recovery

The CESta monitors and adjusts the intensity of the stimulation 1000 times per second to ensure consistent and comfortable stimulation. Throughout the entire session, the CESta will check the electrode connections and automatically make the necessary adjustments. All sessions are pre-timed so your CESta will turn off when your session is complete.

Grief

On Oprah’s Life Class (on the OWN network) Oprah was discussing a 2000 Oprah Episode with Gary Zukav.

A couple had twins and one had passed shortly after birth.  Gary had a very insightful message that really moved me and I wanted to share it here with my readers.  I have not lost a child but I did lose my father to lung cancer and was angry with him for quite a long time:

Mother’s question:  “How do I not let this loss and tragedy in my life take it over?”

Gary’s response:

“This is a matter of perspective.  Perspective of the personality or perspective of the soul. If you look at Ryan (the baby that died) as a personality who lived for a few days and then encountered tragic circumstances and died then you are looking from the point of view of personality.  If you look at Ryan as a soul, like yourself, your husband, those around us, that left this earth when it chose then you will have a different perspective.

Then you will be able to see the gifts this soul offered to you during its short stay on the earth.  You will reach a place in your life where you are grateful that this soul chose to be with you for however short a time.  If you do not you will live your life in anguish thinking that a tragedy has occurred whenever you see your other son growing up, you will say Ryan should be here, when you see your other son graduating you will say Ryan should have graduated, when he finds his wife you will say, Ryan should be getting married too and through all of this time you will be imposing on your other son a burden to carry because no matter what he does or how successful he is he will be causing his mother pain.

If you look at Ryan as a soul, a great soul like yourself who voluntarily entered the earth school and voluntarily left it in order to be with you and to offer gifts then you will begin the process of fathoming and appreciating and becoming grateful for the power of the interaction that you had with that soul and you will be able to receive the gifts that that soul came to this earth to give you, to give to your husband, and to your siblings and if you do not, you will continually be turning away from those gifts, you will be denying the very wealth of wisdom and compassion that was offered to you by this soul.

Gary Zukav is the author of several excellent books.  Seat of the Soul is one I really enjoyed.

Raising Your Vibrational Frequency

Love or above.

That’s the goal.  If you are not vibrating at love or above you are probably lost, confused, broke and possibly unemployed.

So how do you switch it up?

It’s about awareness and redirecting your thoughts.

Even though you may not realize it, every thought you think is a reality in and of itself.  For example, I recently sprained my ankle, pretty badly and it was hard to stay positive especially when I was in pain.  So thoughts of despair would pop into my mind.  Now, in the past I would have floated away with that worry.  Now that I know what I know, I don’t live my life by default anymore.  When a negative thought floats into my mind I catch myself (remember awareness is the first step – you can’t change what you aren’t aware of) and redirect to a positive thought like “Everyday and in every way my ankle is getting better and better” or “Yesterday I had a sprained ankle but today I am healthy, healed and whole.”

I must admit my recovery time has been AMAZING.  I feel positively terrific.  I’m amazed at how much energy I have and how much stuff I am getting done.

Try it…it really works.

Soul Sisters

Ever meet someone you feel like you’ve known forever?

Well, you probably do in an inter dimensional way, if you will.  There is a belief system out there that states that we travel in “soul groups.”  For example, the Kennedy’s are a very strong soul group.  A soul group is a band of people that are incredibly connected and move through an entire lifetime together.

If you don’t feel like you are with your soul group that’s okay, not many of us are.  I think what is more typical is meeting people and having an instant connection or incredible disdain for them.  The instant connection tells you they have been with you before and have purposely crossed your path now to remind you of who you are and what you came here to do.

If you have an incredible disdain for them you have been with them before as well and there may be something that needs healing or release or at the very least it is a warning to steer clear of them because they may be working against you on another level.

If you want to learn more about soul groups and spirituality be sure to join us for the Soul Sisters gathering.  Last Wed, Infinitea Eau Claire, WI 12-1pm.

Benefits of Meditation

There are many benefits of meditation:

Psychological and Emotional

• Reduces anxiety and tension.
• Creates a sense of inner peace and calm.
• Reduced the use of prescription drugs.
• Helps you lose weight.

Physical Benefits

• Strengthens your immune system.
• Lowers blood pressure.
• Reduces chronic pain.
• Increases blood flow from the heart.
• Reduces cardiovascular problems.

Work-Related Benefits

• Reduces sick days.
• Improves productivity.
• Improves work performance.
• Improves relationships with co workers and supervisors.

I use meditation in my daily life and help others with their own practice and I would have to say my favorite benefit of meditation is that I feel like I am more in control of myself and my life.  I prefer the mindfulness practice of “awareness breathing” throughout the day over a set time of 30 minutes.  Incorporating both is ideal.

What is a Reiki Attunement?

I host Reiki Classes throughout the year and encourage my clients to become attuned in Reiki.  The #1 question I receive is WHY?

There are several reasons why a person would want a Reiki Attunement:

* Self healing
* Assisting healing for a sick family member
* Helping a friend who has physical pain
* Healing pet ailments or disease
* Increase intuition
* Spiritual connection

An attunement permanently opens your Crown Chakra, the “third eye,” throat, and heart chakra so that you will be able to channel Reiki to yourself and others.

I offer 3 classes which run once a month consecutively for the three Reiki Levels; Reiki I, Reiki II and Master Reiki.  The next class series I offer is in April 2011 at Globe University in EC, WI.  This series will be eligible for CEU credits.

Who should be attuned?

general public, nurses, doctors, massage therapists, natural healing practitioners, personal trainers, fitness experts, yoga instructors, reflexologists, energy workers, people who have a disease or don’t feel well; fibromyalgia, lymes disease, back pain, headaches, etc.

I’ve been using Reiki for about 7 years now and have even taught my husband and 12 year old daughter.  We’ve used it on ourselves, each other, our pets and other family members and friends.  I’m always amazed at the healing that often occurs with such a simple technique.

Spiritual Counseling Hotline

Last year I had this amazing brainstorm to begin hosting a Spiritual Counseling Hotline.  I got postcards made up with a special offer and information about the hotline and began sharing them with everyone I knew.  I handed out about 500 and was just about ready to give up on the idea when I finally received a call inquiring about it.

After a brief moment of hesitation (I was thinking I would quietly back out of the whole thing since interest had been virtually nill) a spark from spirit urged be to BEGIN ANEW and I shared my enthusiasm for this great idea and sparked his interest.  A miraculous thing occurred.  My friend called several of his friends and the next thing I knew I was hosting my first HOTLINE with 3 guests!!!

We discussed marketing tips and techniques to increasing clients and I had great fun.  The lesson I learned on this hugely energetic day of 1/11/11 was to NEVER give up on a great idea.  Maybe conditions weren’t right for it to flourish the first time around but it doesn’t mean you should toss the whole thing out and start from scratch.

My top 5 Marketing Tips we covered in the call today:
1. To join your local chamber or not.
2. Get that website published even if you only have 1 page ready.
3. Offer a free monthly event – giving back to your community is important and it’s a great way to meet new people.

UBC: Day 11

Russell Swonger is a dear friend of mine and one who I whole-heartedly recommend.  Russell is a Medicine Man in Spooner, WI and owns Soaring Eagles Wellness Center.  Russell offers energy healing based on a love offering donation.  He has great faith that the creator will bring him everything he needs to sustain his life and his work without charging a set fee for services.  I totally honor him for his ability to have such faith in what he does.  He truly pours his heart and soul into his work and he has some AMAZING testimonials of people healing from all kinds of ailments all the way from cancer to torn rotator cuff’s to lyme’s disease.  I have personally experienced Russell’s healing along with my husband (who sees him regularly) and my daughter, age 12, as well as my mother and sister who have lyme’s disease.

I have learned a lot from Russell in the short time I’ve known him (3 years).  And the most important thing he’s taught me is the “Oneida Breathing Technique” that I’d like to share with you here.

Plant feet firmly on the ground.
Take a deep breath in through the nose – moving the stress down your body deep into mother earth.
Send all your tension, pain, dis-ease to mother earth – she is happy to take it from you and recycle it.

Now open your mouth and while you exhale imagine pulling fresh energy from mother earth,
Cleansing, clearing and refreshing your body mind and spirit.
All the way up out the top of your head.

Do in a round of four breaths throughout the day.

If you decide to give Russell a call – be sure to tell him Julie says, “HI!”

Meditation: Why People Fail

People fail at meditation for a large number of reasons, but in my practice there seems to be 4 main reasons people are unsuccessful.

1.  I can’t stop my thoughts.
Meditation isn’t about thought stopping.  It is about thought awareness. Allowing your thoughts to move through your mind is much different then engaging them.

Ex.  I can’t forget to stop by the grocery store and get milk.

Engaging:  Oh and while I’m there I need hamburger.  Hmmm, should I buy organic this time?  Probably because it’s healthier.  Oh, but it costs so much and my husband will complain, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah

2.  I just don’t have time.

Meditation can be just as much about being aware of your breath when you are stopped at the intersection as it is sitting quietly with your legs crossed and your finger touched to your thumb chanting the word “OM.”

3.  It’s boring.

Compared to what?  Racing around 100 mph all day long trying to get it all done and then spending the whole night trying to go to sleep because you can’t turn off that incessant chatter in your mind and slip into dreamland.

Once you truly invest 100% in a mindfulness meditation practice the rewards will far outweigh any boredom you might experience in the initial stages, trust me on this one.

Things I do to for variety: focus on breath, use mantras or affirmations, listen to soft music, meditate on a lit candle or a picture (windows media player is amazing to focus on while the music is playing), use a guided relaxation tape.

4.  I keep getting interrupted by outside noises (phone, family, remembering things I have to do).
Meditation is all about being in the moment.  If the phone is ringing, calmly get up and turn it off or turn down the volume on the answering machine, if your family keeps bugging you, learn how to meditate in short 5 min spurts so the interruption is like a thought you let it come in and flow out without breaking your awareness, if you keep remembering things you need to do get a piece of paper and write them down as they come in, eventually your mind will quiet down and you can focus on your breath.

Don’t let your ego talk you out of pursuing something that can be extremely beneficial to your overall well-being.

There are tons of benefits for meditating.  Here are just a few:

* sleep better
* decrease muscle tension which leads to headaches
* better relationships with others and self
* calmer and overall sense of well-being

“Om” your way to a better New Year!  ♥
